As you all know, I am not much of a blogger; however, today I have to complain. I don't watch much TV, but I HATE missing Ugly Betty and Gray's Anatomy.
In anticipation of the switch from analog to digital, we used our government issued coupon to purchase a digital antenna converter. No problem, we've had it for months and with the coupon it was only $15.
Well, since we live in the middle of nowhere, we don't get a strong enough signal to get the one and only channel I watch - along with all the others. Sure I can watch it on the computer tomorrow, but sometimes, you just want to sit in front of the TV and watch it in "real time". So, Jason e-mailed his friend to see where we can get a different device (I forget what it's called) to get basic TV.
Not watching it when it's on doesn't bother me as much as the fact that I personally know people who don't really have the money to spend on some box just to get "free" television. You see, these converters are NONREFUNDABLE! Now, all of us South Georgians are out $15! I know you're thinking what's the big deal it's only $15, (unless you are Laura :-D - Love you!) but I know people who probably gave up necessities one week just to purchase this box for their kids (my students) that doesn't work and is not refundable, and I bet they don't have cable either. I just think that's crappy!
I would write to our governor, but he's got bigger issues since he turned down the stimulus package for the entire state last week. Plus, he cut the budget for schools and is not giving teachers the money we get at the beginning of the school year to use towards classroom supplies.

Google Maps
Go to maps.google.com. There is a new feature where you can take this little yellow man and put him on the map and actually see your house! Our picture was taken when we still had our bushes. You can even see Jason's car in the driveway. For whatever reason, the garbage can is in the middle of the yard, but we were pretty amazed with the picture considering how podunk our town is.

CRAZY!!!!
I know it's been a long time, but I have revived my running blog... I think it's best since I will be doing a 15K in 3 weeks. Yes, you read that correctly, 3 weeks. I am prepared to run a 5K, which was the original plan, but I'm a flexible gal and plans change. For more updates, check out my running blog.
